Kunsthal Thy is a new exhibition centre for contemporary art. The art centre is located in the 400m2 barn of Dovergaard, perhaps Denmark’s oldest farm.

Throughout 2023 and 2024, eight solo exhibitions by Danish and international artists will be presented. The focus will be on sculpture and installations that engage with the striking space. Kunsthal Thy was founded by Rasmus Søndergaard Johannsen, who is also its artistic director. It  is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, Thisted Kommune and the sponsors and foundations below.

In connection with each exhibition, activities are organised with local assocations and  volunteers, so the exhibtion program is accessible to children and young people with special needs and mentally vulnerable adults.

The exhibiting visual artists are paid a fee in accordance with the recommended minimum fees agreed between the Organisation of Danish Museums and the Danish Association of Visual Artists.
