About Kunsthal Thy
Kunsthal Thy is an exhibition venue for contemporary art. The space is located in the 400-square-meter barn of what might be Denmark's oldest farm, Dovergaard.
The exhibition venue focuses on sculpture and installation art that can engage with the distinctive space. Kunsthal Thy opened in 2023, initiated by visual artist Rasmus Søndergaard Johannsen, who also serves as the artistic director. In 2025, Kunsthal Thy is supported by the foundations listed below.
For each exhibition, activities are planned in collaboration with partners to ensure that the art is accessible to and used by children and young people with special needs, as well as adults with mental health challenges. Additionally, there is close cooperation with local stakeholders and volunteers, with a strong emphasis on being rooted in the local community.
Exhibiting artists are paid fees in accordance with the recommended minimum rates agreed upon between the Danish Museums Association and the Danish Visual Artists Association.
